Your Questions About Dyson Dc25

Mandy asks…

How do I fix my dyson dc25 animal vac?

Okay so I use this strictly for dog hair and food crumbs from the kids. I turned it on this morning it refuses to suck. I emptied it and that didn’t help. Since, this is suck a pricey vacuum I thought i would see if anyone else had this problem and what helped it. Anything would be greatly appreciated :)

Natalia Popovici answers:

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Its worth checking that the brush bar is turning when the cleaner is switched on. If it isn’t, try switching the machine off, pressing the brush bar on/off button once and then switch it back on again. This should re-set the brush bar.

If this is not causing the problem then try washing both of the filters and checking the whole machine through for a blockage. All details of the full blockage procedure and maintance of your Dyson vacuum cleaner can be found on our website in the Support section at on in your user guide.

I hope that this information is useful to you. If you need any further help, you can contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Steven asks…

I plan on buying Dyson DC25 Animal for Christmas gift. Should I buy at amazon or directly from dyson? ?

They sell at exactly the same price now ($549.99). In this case, should I buy at amazon or at dyson? I don’t care when they deliver as long as they deliver before Dec 24. What diference would there be?

Natalia Popovici answers:

I would go from amazon. They are more likely to give you a promotion such as free shipping or $10 off or something.

Mark asks…

I just got a Dyson dc25. How do i release the handle to use the wand feature?

ditto above. thanks.

Natalia Popovici answers:

Hi there its Darran at Dyson.

To release the wand handle, simply lift the cap on the very top of the handle and pull the red cuff up towards the ceiling. The metal tube will slide upwards and then when it stops give it a sharp tug to release completely from the machine.

If you wish to use just the hose, simply press the red button where the hose joins the bottom of the wand handle.

Paul asks…

Difference between dyson dc25 all floors and dyson dc25 animal?

Natalia Popovici answers:

Hi, it’s Ryan at Dyson.

The only differences between the DC25 All Floors and DC25 Animal have to do with the accessories that come with these machines and their color.

The DC25 All Floors vacuum comes with a stair tool and a combination accessory tool that acts as a brush and crevice tool in one. The DC25 Animal comes with these same accessories plus the Mini Turbine Head tool, which is especially useful for pet owners because it is designed to remove pet hair and dirt from tight spaces such as upholstery, stairs, and the interior of cars.

In addition, the DC25 All Floors has a yellow Ball and Cyclone Assembly, while these parts are purple on the DC25 Animal.

Laura asks…

Where can I find a replacement cord for the DC25 Animal Dyson Vacuum?

The dog chewed through my power cord. The vacuum belongs to my mother, and while I was house sitting, she ate the cord.

What I need is a place where I can buy a new power cord (preferably online) and any advice on replacing the actual cord. It looks like it’ll be difficult to take out. Thank you so much!

Natalia Popovici answers:

You wouldn’t have to go and buy the same exact power cord. You should be able to buy a 12/3 extension cord and cut off the end on it, and put that on the vacuum cleaner. I wouldn’t put on a blaze orange cord, but green or something darker probably wouldn’t be bad. It also would be a lot cheaper than buying a factory replacement and it would work just as well, it wouldn’t have the factory color per say.
